With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Susan Laubach-Kim is a dedicated optometrist with a passion for helping patients unlock their full potential through vision therapy and neuro-visual rehabilitation. Whether it's improving a child's reading skills, enhancing athletic performance, or alleviating double vision and headaches, Dr. Laubach-Kim finds joy in the transformational impact of her work.
A San Francisco Bay Area native, Dr. Laubach-Kim earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field, she was named Alameda Contra Costa County Optometrist of the Year in 2023.
She is especially passionate about outreach and has volunteered her eye care services both locally and abroad. From screening athletes at the Special Olympics to providing care for children in orphanages and special needs schools in countries such as Vietnam, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, Dr. Laubach-Kim is committed to making a difference.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Laubach-Kim enjoys staying active-whether hiking, cooking, traveling, or simply spending quality time with her two adult sons and her two spirited rescue terriers, Scout and Kemosabe. And yes, she'll admit to indulging in the occasional shopping trip.
