More about Susan Player, MSN, NP

I am an advanced practice registered nurse with diverse experience in medical/surgical, psychiatric, and project management roles within nursing care and administration, serving both civilian and military populations. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with my bachelor's degree in 1979 and worked in patient care in Charleston, SC, across various hospital settings until I entered the USAF in 1988. I served on active duty until 1991. Afterward, I worked at NIH in various settings until 1994, when I earned my Master's in Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Baltimore, got married, and transitioned to the FDA. There, I worked as a project manager for several years in the Centers for Biologics and then Psychiatric Medications. I divorced in 2004, moved back south to Atlanta, and worked for two separate pharmaceutical companies. In 2009, I fulfilled my dream of working in private practice by joining a psychiatrist in Cumming. I have been in this private practice ever since, working with a variety of patients with different psychiatric disorders. I treat both men and women with anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychoses through medication management. I love what I do and hope to continue until age 70, in four years, so I can retire. I am still divorced and single, and I love my life. I am passionate about sighthound rescue and have four dogs who are like my children. I also love horses and hope one day to return to riding dressage. I enjoy using all therapy modalities to help patients achieve and maintain a high quality of life.

Great as always
I’ve known Susan for a couple of decades. She helps me keep on a stable life track with my bipolar disorder. She’s a great friend. Her patience, dedication and understanding make her a great and exceptional nurse.
I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. My psychiatrist is by far very informative and makes sure I'm doing well. She makes sure to give me the tools to cope and let's me know I can call her anytime I need to .
Love Susan and lifestance! She is the best and easy to talk too and also in asking questions. Now.. you get a ton of emails from them wanting updated insurance information and payment… but you can never get a reply from them.. that’s the office staff. I am giving the 5 star solely because Susan does a great job.
