About Dr. Swetha Addagatla
Dr. Addy joined Metro Medical Associates in May 2021. Originally a native of Hyderabad, Dr. Addy now considers Atlanta, GA her hometown. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Sri Venkateswara Medical College, Tirupathi, India. She completed her family medicine residency at the prestigious University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Vaughan Regional Medical Center, and is board certified in Family Medicine.
After her residency, Dr. Addy began her career as a primary care physician in Sugar Hill, GA. During her work, she developed a special interest in obesity, which is one of the leading root causes of chronic medical problems including hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. She pursued a fellowship and is currently certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Addy provides specialized medical treatment for weight loss. As a Family Physician, she is able to provide care to every member of the family, including children and women's health care such as PAP smears and DOT certifications. She is also certified in Nexplanon implantation for birth control.
During her free time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family. Dr. Addy speaks three languages, including English, Telugu, and Hindi. She welcomes the opportunity to take care of you and your family.

Swetha Addagatla, MD, CSOWM was amazing. I enjoyed my time speaking with her. She addressed all of my issues and took great care of me.
I will come back and make her my PCP.

The provider was very nice. However, I was a bit annoyed because I went in for a specific concern and she decided that we needed to talk about my weight loss instead, which quite literally had nothing to do with my initial concern.

I prefer female providers and when I arrived, I was seen by a male Medical student without my permission. I wasn’t asked if it was alright for him to be part of my consultation ahead of time, nor was she present when he was taking my medical history - I maybe saw her for under 2 minutes. She was kind enough and clearly competent but the experience was suboptimal. I would not recommend.

She was great and the office staff were very friendly and helpful! Just a heads up, I noted a trans consultation and she does not actually do that, so we just did a standard physical. She did say she would give me a referral for an endocrinologist but it's been 8 days and have not heard back for that.

Loved Dr. Addy. She's helping me get my blood pressure under control. She's willing to work with my health goal of being as holistic as possible: to both manage symptoms and get to the root cause. I might still need to see a functional doctor, but I'm happy to have found Dr. Addy. In fact, I've made her my primary care doctor.
