SUZANNE L. TUZEL, MD-
Dr Tuzel is board certified in psychiatry with additional board certification in addiction psychiatry. Dr Tuzel attended Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in biology, before transferring to the University of Istanbul, Istanbul Medical Faculty where she received her medical degree. Her residency training included - Bergen Regional Medical Center, Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, Stony Brook University Hospital, and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center/ NY State Psychiatric Institute, and completion of an addiction fellowship at North Shore University Hospital.
Prior to joining North Shore Psychiatric Consultants in 2002, she has held numerous administrative duties including Associate Clinical Director, Downstate Medical Director of the PMHP Program and Chief of Psychiatry at PIlgrim Psychiatric Center.
Since 2006, she is the Medical Director of the Huntington Drug and Alcohol Counseling Center. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and the Turkish American Medical Association. Additionally, she holds privileges as an Adjunct Staff member at North Shore University Hospital.
Dr Tuzel is an experienced psychiatrist in psychopharmacologic treatment and a dedicated physician, coming from a family of physicians and nurses.
