Finally, a Pediatric Endocrinologist that is really making sense and cares. She listens to my son, understands and connects with him like no doctor ever has. She is making the difference in his life after searching so many years. Blood glucose is finally going down and other issues are making sense. Thanks Dad, for finding this doctor. She is awesome!

Dr. Svetlana Ten is a dedicated and reliable pediatrician and pediatric endocrinologist serving the communities of Brooklyn and Staten Island, NY. Dr. Ten attended Belarussian State Medical University in Belarus, where she earned her medical degree. She then completed her fellowships in pediatric endocrinology at Moscow School of Medicine in Russia and Akita University School of Medicine in Japan. Dr. Ten then moved to the United States to complete her residency in pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center. She continued her training by completing another fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Ten is affiliated with Lutheran Medical Center of Brooklyn and is certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Endocrinology, the Pediatric Academic Society, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, and the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and American Academy of Diabetes Educators. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator.
Dr. Ten has received several awards recognizing her vast and impressive medical experience and research including the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society award as an international scholar at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Maimonides Research Foundation award for the role of Insulin resistance in Steatohepititis. She had academic affiliation as assistant professor of pediatrics at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.

It was a follow up appointment for my daughter. Doctor seemed to be in very bad mood, irritated, with very unpleasant behavior. Maybe as mother I was showing a lot of concern of my child's health and the prescribed medicine, it still should not prone doctor to behave such unprofessional way. Being impatient, rude, and offensive to the patient and his family is unacceptable for the medical workers and especially to the medical professionals such as doctors. I was about to stand and leave that office. Was not comfortable to do it in front of my daughter and the "student" who was taking some training sessions during my appointment. Again even patient is not understanding something during appointment, even patient was asking some questions over and over again it doesn't allow Doctors to behave such way. Doctor Ten suggested to go to the other Doctors, and yes - I will definitely do that, and I won't be ever coming back to Doctor Ten. I won't ever recommend this doctor to anyone.

Patient who came in after two other patients and didn't want to wait their turn, spoke to the doctor and got bumped up before them who also arrived on time to their appointments. The doctor was backed up. That was not fair to the two other patients who had to wait even longer.
