Dr. Takeia Locke completed her undergraduate degree in Health Management from Howard University. She went on to receive her Bachelors in Vision Science and Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Locke continued her training by completing a yearlong residency after graduation in Primary Care, Pediatrics and Vision Therapy.
She identified her love of Optometry at the age of 16 and has worked in the field ever since. Her passion for optometry has earned her numerous awards in all areas of optometry including contact lens, school screenings, and pediatrics and vision therapy. Dr. Locke also has a passion for mission work in other countries and has volunteered in Jamaica several times.
She has published research and articles on Autism, Glaucoma and Dry Eye Disease. In addition, she has lectured in all areas of the field to her colleagues as well as community organizations. As a ‘MyAtlantaEyeDoctor’ affiliate, Dr. Locke is committed to caring for you and your family’s vision and eye health.
She is an InfantSEE® provider, accepts many medical and vision insurance plans, and children of all ages are welcome.

Just moved to the area last summer and grateful for the doc's the ZocDoc helped me pick. This Dr. was very disappointing she prescribe Vision Therapy with no real explanation of what this entailed cost or anything else.

Dr. Locke is by far the best optometrist that I have experienced and is excellent at what she does. She is very thorough and ensures that she explains everything that she is doing while she does it. I have been wearing glasses for 20+ years, and I finally enjoy wearing them. My eyesight has actually gotten better over the past two years since visiting Dr. Locke.

ZocDoc worked well with all the other doctors that I picked. Had recently moved and started fresh with new docs for the family. I loved all the doctors (3) that I picked from this site except this one. She as quick and to the point. She wasn't too welcoming, but she did her job. Prescribed me super expensive eye drops and never followed up with me like they said they would. She had a lot of kids after me and I felt like she was much more attentive to them. I like for my docs to be a bit more personable :)

My visit with Dr. Locke was EXCELLENT! She is very attentive and thorough. The staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. I was the last appointment for the day, however Dr. Locke did not rush me through the examination. She addressed all of my concerns and made helpful recommendations. Bonus--the office equipment is really hi-tech. I was very impressed.

Dr. Locke was excellent, very pleasant personality and she showed me that my prior RX really needed updating. Additionally, her assistant Anita - was fantastic she went over and beyond to help get my coverage information including calling the insurance carrier and staying on the phone with them for quite awhile. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and helped me pick out some great new glasses. I would recommend Dr. Locke office to anyone. Best medical experience I have had.
