Graduating from the University of Tulsa with her master's degree in 1998, Tami, has been a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist for over 20 years. She specializes in speech, language, auditory processing, voice and feeding and swallowing delays and disorders.
Believing in a holistic approach, she, uses evidence based practices and encourages individuals to seek out additional therapies and referrals as appropriate.
Having worked in the public school arena for more than 10 years, she often helps parents obtain services through their local school and traverse the rocky road of special education for their child. Disorders for children treated include: articulation, language, Autism, learning disabilities, and feeding and swallowing.
Adult treatment can vary drastically from requiring diet changes to exercises to increase cognition, oral function or improved voice function. Tami has worked in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and in home health. These environments have exposed her to multiple adult communication disorders including strokes, dementia, Parkinson, ALS, voice, dysphagia, apraxia, dysarthria, just to name a few.
Tami is certified in the LSVT, LOUD program for individuals with Parkinson. She also is certified in Vitalstim for dysphagia and provides both therapy modalities in her facility.
