Qualifications and Experience
Tamela B. Tripp M.D. is a Board Certified Dermatologist committed to providing her patients with state of the art skin care.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Drake University in Des Moines and then matriculated at the University of Iowa College of Medicine where she earned her M.D. degree. After completing a three year Internal Medicine residency here in Phoenix, Dr. Tripp moved to Augusta where she studied Dermatology at the Medical College of Georgia. After completion of her Residency, she moved back to her beloved Valley of the Sun where she joined Dr. Deborah Mendelson in founding North Mountain Dermatology, Ltd.
Dr. Tripp is highly experienced in both adult and pediatric medical and cosmetic dermatology. She offers a full range of dermatologic services from treating stubborn cystic acne with accutane to cosmetic skin procedures like Botox injections for wrinkles and excessive sweating. She is also skilled in use of other cosmetic agents such as Juvederm as well as skin biopsies and excisions.
She is a strong believer in total body skin cancer checks. An avid baseball fan, she has participated for many years in the Arizona Diamondbacks annual Skin Cancer Screening Clinics. When not working, Dr. Tripp loves to dance, exercise, hike and water ski, but never of course, without wearing her sunscreen!
Dr.Tripp, is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Additionally, she is a member of the following professional organizations:

Dr. Tripp is great! But the office staff needs some lessons in customer service. They are terrible at communicating. Because my insurance wouldn't pay for the medication I was originally prescribed (which no one from the office informed me of), one of the medical assistants ended up authorizing a substitute prescription without checking my file. The medication she substituted was one that I had informed them I had already used and it did not work.
