More about Dr. Tao Ho, MD
Tao A. Ho, M.D. was born in Vietnam and has been living in Texas since 1975. Armed with an undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin, he attended The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he also stayed for his residency. After serving as Chief Resident in 1997 - 1998, he followed his then girlfriend (now wife) to Dallas. Dr. Ho joined Dallas Medical Specialists in August 2007.
Dr. Ho sees the practice of medicine as a collaboration between himself and his patients. “Influenced by their life experiences, health, and exposure to our complicated health care system, each patient is unique. My job is to communicate with each individual person, and together, develop a plan to achieve their best medical health possible. I feel strongly about disease prevention and see education as vital to this goal. Ultimately, I want my patients to view me as someone who takes their health issues as seriously as I would my own.”
Away from medicine, Dr. Ho enjoys reading, following University of Texas Longhorn sports, and spending time with his family. His wife, Vi, is a dentist in Plano and they currently have a son, Thaden, with two more children planned in the next few years.

I have been seeing Dr. Ho for 3 years. In my previous visits they have all been positive. I think very highly of Dr. Ho based on his reputation, referral from Dr. Downs, and my past visits. The visit today was very impersonal based on a 3 years doctor-patient relationship. I felt like I was in an assembly line at a minute clinic. This was the first time I have had this type of experience with an internist physician. He asked the minimum amount of questions about my symptoms, and he did not give me any feedback on my physical symptoms. He did not provide me any information about the medication he prescribed to me, nor the timeline I would start feeling better. He did not provide any advice on how to prevent sinus infections in the future, nor did he ask what medications I am currently taking. There was no opportunity to ask questions at the end of the visit. He did not seem to be genuinely concerned about my health. Unfortuntely, it was a cold experience today when I was feeling ill. I'm providing my true opinion and feedback based on my visit today.

As always, everything was simply great!!! Not only is Dr. Ho extremely professional, efficient, caring, but also very personable,kind, and helpful. One always feels relaxed and know that they have a wonderful physician who truly wants to be of service in every way possible: On a scale of 1-10, I would rate him as a 10+. While one knows he
he is extremely busy, he always gives you the feeling that he truly cares about your overall health and that that is all he is concerned about at that point and time.
While I regret that Dr. Ho will be leaving soon, I wish him continued success, health and happiness.

I think he's a very competent doctor and I have seen him for over 8 years. He spends a lot of time with you even when you're on an HMO which normally dictates how much time a doc can see and consult with you. He actually saved my life when I had DVT.

Overall very good. Felt a bit rushed though but that is pretty much a normal feeling with any healthcare visits it seems.
Was told the X-rays I had taken may not get explained to me for a week until the doctor returns...hope there isn't anything of concern found. :)
