What a pleasure it was to have a provider who listened and communicated well with me during my visit. She made sure I had all my questions answered and asked me several to ensure that I was healthy all the way around. I needed a new provider who would continue my care and medications in Virginia and she sure did!! She's a wonderful person who made my weeks of looking for a new, nice, and cooperative one worth my wait. I highly recommend her and I am so happy that she will be continuing my care

Teras G. Flowers is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who is passionate about decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health – one family at a time.
She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Howard University in 2014. That same year, she began working at one of the busiest hospitals in the DMV area – Washington Hospital Center – and began a career where she was able to cultivate her educational knowledge with experience in a variety of medical-surgical units across the hospital. Her primary area of focus and responsibilities, however, was in the psychiatric-medical surgical unit, where most patients have a combination of urgent medical and psychiatric needs. She gained firsthand insight about the interconnectedness between physical and mental wellbeing. She was mentored by some of the top psychiatrists in the area. Teras went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University, graduating in 2020. Teras treats adults with general psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Outside psychiatry, Teras loves spending time with her family, traveling, experiencing the culinary world, and interior design/architecture.
