I bring a unique perspective to my practice, shaped by my upbringing in Washington, DC, and my biracial identity. Growing up in a culturally rich, diverse city, I learned early on how identity can be fluid, complex, and deeply personal. My experience navigating multiple cultural worlds gives me deep empathy for clients who may feel torn between different parts of themselves or face challenges in understanding how their background shapes their mental health and relationships. Whether addressing issues of race, cultural identity, family dynamics, or social pressures, I work closely with young adults, adults, and teens.
I draw from various approaches, including emotion-focused therapy, ACT, CPT, interpersonal family systems, and incorporate attachment perspectives. I can help you understand how early life experiences may be impacting your relationships and assist you in recognizing and managing life struggles.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that each client brings their own set of experiences, perspectives, and challenges to the therapeutic process. I believe our childhood experiences shape our beliefs, behaviors, and how we function in relationships in profound ways. By creating an open and non-judgmental space, I hope to empower clients.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am deeply committed to creating a warm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic space where clients can explore their emotions and vulnerabilities without fear of shame or criticism. The demographics I work with are Teens, young Adults, and I recognize that the healing process is deeply personal and that each client’s journey is unique. By integrating EFT, IFS, and Attachment Theory, I provide a holistic approach that helps clients heal past wounds, improve emotional regulation, and build stronger, more secure relationships. I base a lot of my work in the clients reality and what would work best for their everyday life.
I view therapy as a collaborative process where the client and I work together to explore the underlying emotional patterns that influence behaviors, thoughts, and relationships. Emotionally Focused Therapy guides my work by emphasizing the importance of secure emotional bonds in relationships, helping the client to understand the "why" in emotional patterns
my work is informed by Attachment Theory, which helps me understand how early relationships shape one's emotional and relational patterns in adulthood. I believe that many of our challenges—whether in relationships, emotional regulation, or self-worth—stem from attachment wounds. We will work together to gain a better understanding on your relationships.
