More about Dr. Thanh Tran, OD
Dr. Thanh Tran graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry where he earned his Doctorate in Optometry. Throughout all four years of optometry school, he was elected into the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and tutored Optics to fellow colleagues. Dr. Tran was also the Geometrical Optics and Ophthalmics Procedures Instructor for the Texas Optometry Career Opportunities Program (TEXOCOP). He was beloved among students and recognized with the "Most Outstanding Professor" award both years he taught.
In addition to his strong background in primary care optometry, Dr. Tran has extensive experience in the fitting of specialty contact lenses and management of anterior segment diseases.
He has participated in the co-management of cataract surgery, LASIK, and various refractive procedures. During his clinical rotations, Dr. Tran also received training to treat and manage many ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, and retinopathies associated with diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Tran was born in Vietnam and grew up in Houston, Texas. He just recently moved to San Antonio, Texas. His hobbies include fishing, volunteering, spending time with loved ones and creating television shows. Dr. Tran is the creator, producer, and host of several Vietnamese reality programs. He is also an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
