Dr. Thomas Goberville was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He matriculated to the University of Notre Dame on a football scholarship. Dr. Goberville was the starting tight end for 3 years and played in The Shrine All-Star Game. After graduation from ND with honors he was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes to play Canadian Football.
His experience in athletic injuries stimulated him to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Goberville’s medical experience began at the University of Chicago doing hematological research. Subsequent to the University of Chicago he graduated from Northwestern Medical School. Dr. Goberville was a research assistant in cardiac and transplant surgery at Northwestern.
Following medical school Dr. Goberville was accepted to University of Miami Orthopaedic Residency Program. During his 5 years at the University of Miami he won 3 awards from The Florida Orthopaedic Society for his research papers.
Dr. Goberville’s Orthopaedic Practice in South Florida continues to evolve. Arthoscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee, total hip and knee surgerical replacement, and preventive orthopaedic care have been his focus. His surgery and expertise has expanded into computer based and robotic surgery of the hip and knee for joint reconstruction and replacement. However, his main objective will always be to educate his patients about their medical problems, help them understand why the disability occurred, and what is the safest journey to recovery.
