Generally, I really like Dr. Goforth. He's great, and most of the people in the office are nice and seem competent.
I booked my ZocDoc appointment for 1:30, but when I got to the office, their systems said my appointment was booked at 1:45. Not sure if it was an issue on ZocDoc's end or the doctor's end. In any case, I wasn't seen until nearly 2:00.

Thomas Goforth, DO, completed his medical degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a board-certified Family Medicine physician, licensed to practice in the state of New York. He completed his residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was the chief resident. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the New York County Medical Society.
Dr. Goforth has been the Family Medicine Attending Physician, Associate Medical Director and Emergency Room Attending Physician in Queens and the Bronx, prior to coming to Patients Medical.
As a family physician, Dr. Goforth takes patients of all ages - from newborns to the elderly. He can assist you with a full spectrum of health care services for men and women including well-woman and pap smear tests, preventive care and routine visits for adolescents and adults, treating most acute illnesses, management of chronic medical problems, weight loss, thyroid disease, hormone imbalances, adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, asthma, diabetes, allergies and much more.
Passionate about mission work and counseling, Dr. Goforth has traveled to El Salvador and Ethiopia to attend to the medical needs of those who do not have access to care and was the founder and director of Oasis Teen Club, a drug and alcohol-free club for teens. Dr. Goforth greatly values the importance of diet, lifestyle and exercise in his own life and health. An avid athlete, he enjoys hiking, cycling, jogging, playing baseball and spending time outdoors whenever possible.

I had a pretty traumatizing experience with my previous doctor. We had a complete communication breakdown which ended up affecting other people. I had to find someone I felt comfortable communicating with, even though our relationship was new, and who I could rely on to give me sound advice and next steps. After reviewing Zoc Doc I settled on Dr. Goforth, and I'm sure glad I did. He let me break down in tears in his office. Calmly explained everything that I would need to know and set up my next appointment for a full physical in only two weeks (enough time for all my blood work to come back from the labs). Although I don't have a long standing relationship with Dr. Goforth, I highly recommend him for first time patients. I'll be returning in a few weeks. So glad that I found a warm, safe dr.'s office to go to.

This was my first time seeing a DO instead of an MD and Dr. Goforth was exceptional. He was extremely interactive and helped to address all of my medical needs. I would highly suggest seeing Dr. Goforth!

Dr. Goforth is a rarity: a doctor that actually listens to you.
My wife and I visited Dr. Goforth's office for our first annual physical since moving to NYC. He took time to chat with my wife and I, going over our histories and asking us about our lifestyles. We never felt rushed. He was personable and authentic.
His philosophy for wellness is grounded in what he calls the "four-legged chair": 1) diet 2) exercise 3) sleep and 4) the ineffable spiritual needs we all have. If any one of those needs goes untended for too long, we start to get wobbly, metaphorically speaking.
We're heading back to Dr. Goforth's office in a couple weeks for results on our blood work. I'm looking forward to it.

I have been searching for a DO forever and am so happy I found Dr. Goforth. He is easy to talk to and a great listener. As a woman I have found it hard to deal with male doctors in the past because of the reality of chauvinism; Dr. Goforth has been the total opposite. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed that Dr. Goforth does not rush his patients but takes the time to speak with you. He also examines the patients lifestyle to obtain a complete view of the situation, for example Dr. Goforth gave me in-depth blood testing that revealed a thyroid issue that had been overlooked by other medical professionals for years.

This was my first visit to Dr. Goforth. First off, the office itself is very inviting. The receptionists are helpful and really on top of things. Dr. Goforth was great! He walked me through the diagnosis step by step and explained everything very well. I think I've found my new primary care in the city! Not an easy thing to do!!
