Timothy Salkauskis, MD, is a Primary Care and Sports Medicine physician with Coordinated Health, part of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
He has a particular interest in disease prevention, evidence-based medicine, exercise programs, and rehabilitation. He is skilled in a variety of Primary Care procedures such as skin biopsies, pap smears, laceration repairs and Nexplanon placement/removal . Additionally, he is skilled in diagnostic and interventional ultrasonography, and performing joint injections for various musculoskeletal conditions.
“Much of the influence of choosing medicine came from my father, a family and emergency medicine physician who showed me how selfless and respected the profession is,” said Dr. Salkauskis.
In addition to his education and training, Dr. Salkauskis is BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certified and also holds an ABFM Board Certification.
“I specialized in family medicine because being able to develop relationships and seeing patients throughout the course of their life was the natural fit for me,” said Dr. Salkauskis.
Dr. Salkauskis holds professional memberships with the American Association of Family Practice and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He has participated in volunteer community activities including Simon’s Fund, Drexel Family Medicine, Drexel Sports Medicine, and the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic. He participated in competitive mountain biking in Canada as well as road racing, but now enjoys recreational cycling.
“The big draw for me in joining Coordinated Health was hearing the story of hearing how the company came to be and grew, developing coordinated care and removing barriers,” said Dr. Salkauskis. “Coordinated Health strives to help the patients but also help the physicians.”
