Dr. Tina C. Martin was raised in northwestern Ohio. She went to Bowling Green State University for her undergraduate studies, majoring in chemistry and playing on the women’s golf team. Her graduate studies were completed at the Ohio State University, College of Optometry. Dr.Martin has practiced in a wide variety setting since she moved here in 1982. Dr. Martin found herself yearning for a new challenge and that was met in 2006 when she became the owner of Family Center Vision Clinic; an optometric practice that has been a part of the community since the mid 1970’s. She practices general optometry but has a special interest in children’s vision and vision therapy.
She is married to Rob and they enjoy playing golf, travel, diving and dancing. They share 5 grown children and have 1 grandchild.

Arrived on time to find that they had double booked my appointment and had decided to give preferential treatment to the other customer because he was a regular and I had booked online (I don't see the logic there).
Dr Martin did not like that I was only there to get a prescription and not purchase frames (I like to shop around... so sue me).
After getting 3 pairs of glasses made with the prescription she gave me, I immediately started to get bad headaches and could not get my eyes to relax.
When I went in to have things checked out she immediately blamed it on my glasses. When I insisted that I had already had them doubled checked she reexamined my eyes. It turns out that the prescription was way too strong and she had swapped my astigmatism from the right eye to the left. She then tried to pass it off on me by saying I must have had been squinting my eyes during the last exam. I hadn't. She just screwed up.
After finally admitting this was on her she made a good effort to get me the right prescription. I then asked what she could do for me when it came to the fact that I had spent several hundred dollars on new frames/lenses with the bad prescription. She said that she didn't know anything about glasses prices and told me to go talk to her front desk staff and quickly left the room. No apology. Not even a thanks for coming in.
The front desk staff offered a small discount off their already inflated prices for new lenses (it would still cost several hundred dollars to get the lenses done).
I just cut my losses and left to go find a better place for eye care.
Horrible experience and several hundred dollars wasted.

My appointment was a success. My only complaint was that my contact fitting wasn't covered under my insurance, even though the eye exam was covered.

She was very nice and I felt like I was getting the right kind of care for trying to find the right kind of contacts for my dry eyes that won't cost a fortune. I'd definitely recommend her to friends.
