I always feel confident that I’m receiving the best possible care when I walk out of her office. Her team follows up quickly with test results & checks in if followup is needed. Dr. Tobie Beckerman has been practicing general obstetrics and gynecology in the Washington D.C. area for the past 28 years and has been loving every minute of it. A native Washingtonian, she graduated with honors from University of Maryland with a B.S. in nutrition research, attended George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The George Washington University Hospital.
In 2007 and again in 2011, Dr. Beckerman was voted the top GYN by a survey of patients conducted by Bethesda Magazine. Washington Finest also ran a feature article written about her approach to medicine entitled “Putting a Face to Women’s Healthcare.”
Dr. Beckerman is recognized in the community for her particular interest and expertise in menopause management and in genetic screening for breast cancer. She speaks both publicly and to individual physicians educating them on these topics.
She finds being a doctor incredibly rewarding and receives tremendous gratification in being able to take care of women of all ages throughout their lives.Each patient is unique, and therefore each requires individualized attention and a personal doctor patient relationship.
Dr. Tobie Beckman embraces spirituality, loves sports, the outdoors, and keeping up on current events , but she is most passionate about her three children who are her pride and joy.

Dr. Beckerman (Tobie) makes getting a pap smear almost enjoyable (if that is possible!). She takes as much time with her patients as needed & will discuss all aspects of your health as required. I've been her patient for almost 30 years and I hope she never retires!

Dr. Beckerman, as always, was caring thoughtful and invested in my health and well-being overall. She sincerely cares about each patient as a whole person and attends to comfort during medical procedures (even providing socks to cover the cold metal stirrups of the exam chair). I am lucky to have her as my doctor.
