i was in shock... I arrived at 835 for an 845 appointment...
At exactly 845, i was called in to see Dr. Handler.. She was great ! Very professional and concerned. Listened to me and explained everything ! I wish all doctors were as nice as she. The entire office staff is very accommodating and easy to deal with ! Would def recommend !

Dr. Toby Handler obtained her undergraduate degree at Cornell University, and her medical degree from Cornell Medical College.
She completed her residency training in urology at NYU Medical Center, where she rotated through three major hospitals, including Bellevue Hospital, the New York County Veterans Hospital, and NYU Medical Center. During her residency, she also conducted research and published numerous scholarly articles in peer-review journals. Upon completing her residency, Dr. Handler joined Urocare Associates, a urology practice that has since joined Integrated Medical Professionals.
Dr. Handler practices in all areas of urology and specializes in female incontinence and pelvic-floor reconstruction. She is Director of Female Urology in the Department of Urology at Winthrop University Hospital. She is also fluent in Spanish, and lives with her husband and their three daughters.

I saw her for bladder pain and urinary frequency. She was more interested in doing a pelvic exam than looking at and discussing my test results with me. Mind you I had a THOROUGH GYN exam the week before with normal results. Notwithstanding a normal pelvic ultrasound during the same timeframe. She insisted it was necessary despite the tremendous pain I was in. She was insensitive. She did not address my pain. When I ask she said "I don't want to give you narcotics. Use a water bottle". wow!! First, I never ask for narcotics. Dr. Handler, you still have to address my pain. There are many non-narcotics that can be use to relieve pain
That is the least she could have done after causing me unnecesay pain for which I ended up in the ER. My advice stick to prostates.

Prescription was not put in until next day. No representative from the office called to make me aware of this. After taking the prescription as prescribed and still in pain. I called the office where i was told that i would recuse call from the doctor. To my avail no one contacted me. The following morning when i called the office i was told that the doctor could not do anything at this time. Materials for another culture would be mailed to my home. I have never experienced such treatment.

Although office was full, I was seen within 5 minutes. The staff knows what they are doing. Dr. Handler got right down to business to checking me out. I was impressed that she had read my chart and familiarize herself with my case. She didn't have to ask irrelevant questions, got right down to business.

I was very pleased in that as soon as I met Dr. Handler in the exam room she immediately sat down and talked to me about what my issues seemed to be. She didn't rush me nor did she seem preoccupied. She listened and then explained what she thought best and asked me my thoughts. I was so anxious about seeing an urologist initially but Dr. Handler put all my fears aside. After my exam I met her once again in her office and we talked a few minutes more. I actually relaxed and realized that I chose the perfect urologist doctor for me. Thank you Dr. Handler !!!

I thought that she was sympathetic, qualified and communicative. Though she wasn’t a specialist in what I have, she does treat patients with it. I would like to have had a bit more time with her. Also I left without knowing if she did a urinalysis, cultrue and sensitivity, important in my case.
