Dr. Travis Bailey graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Arkansas State University in northeast Arkansas. He later completed his doctorate in optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He completed his clinical rotations in pediatric and developmental vision in Charleston, SC and a second at the Veteran Affairs hospital in central Arkansas with emphasis on the treatment of ocular disease.
Dr. Bailey feels vision goes beyond 20/20 and provides a thorough eye exam including assessment of eye teaming, focusing and overall ocular health. He has experience in the development of the visual system and pediatric vision and is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Dr. Bailey has been in Austin for 3 years and still enjoys spending time exploring the city. You can find him around Town Lake in the summer, playing board games or spending time with his dog Ripley.

My five-year-old is severely far-sighted, a condition that was first noticed when she was four. It is bad enough that she really has to have glasses, but a lot of the places I originally tried were not good with kids and I was not confident of the prescription I received. Dr. Bailey did a great job with her when he first saw her as a four-year-old and he did a great job during this last visit as well. He understands that with kids that age you have to move, move, move because they just don't have the patience an older kit or adult has. She loves her glasses and has consistently wanted to wear them; she even puts them on first thing in the morning, so I am confident that the prescription is good.
If you have a small child who might need glasses, don't waste your time and risk correcting their vision accurately by going to places that are not good with kids. Just make an appointment with Dr. Bailey. He does a good exam at a speed that works for young children and provides a clear explanation to parents.

Dr. Bailey is the best optometrist I've ever had! He explains, in detail, the medical side of what's going on with your eyes. He really wants you to understand what's going on with your eye health! The office staff is friendly, it's always easy to book an appointment, and the office has a great atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing! Dr. Bailey was so easy to talk to and made you feel extremely comfortable! I usually hate going to the eye doctor because my eyes are so terrible that I feel so stupid getting all of the letters wrong! Sounds silly I know but Dr. Bailey completely understood and made me feel so comfortable! Plus he went through all of the costs and didn’t pressure me on buying anything that day and made sure it was under my insurance plan! Can’t say enough great things about him and his practice!! Highly recommend!!!

Very nice, friendly and professional. I know this sounds weird but I feel like this is the best prescription I’ve gotten. I could actually read tiny letters and I can’t wait to get my new glasses! The frames they have available are pretty expensive, but if that is your thing then go for it! I would definitely go back here in the future

Always nervous going into a new doctors office, but my anxiety quickly disappeared. They have a wonderful and inviting space in the office and very friendly staff who were quick to acknowledge me and get me started on my paper work. All machines were quick and simple in direction. The assistant and doctor were both very personable and made the whole process as smooth and as simple as could be. It was my first time needing glasses and the doctor explained just what was going on and I had the same amount of care and attention from one of the ladies out front who helped me find frames that worked with me face ( and looked good) as well as fitted and all set to order. highly recommend.

Everyone here was SO nice! Maria took pictures of the insides of my eyeballs and was really excited to explain what everything is and what all the tools do. Travis was lovely and had me in and out of the appointment quite quickly. The office is comfortable and well lit and modern. Super happy with them and feel much more knowledgeable about the anatomy of my eyes than I did before going in!

Dr. Travis Bailey is amazing. He diagnosed my son with a vision issue that had not been not detected or seen in ordinary eye exams my son had had in the past. His diagnosis has set us off in a trajectory of therapies that have absolutely changed my son’s life, for a condition we had absolutely no idea!! We are eternally grateful to Dr. Bailey. I will never ever go to another eye doctor, and I will recommend Dr Bailey to anyone and everyone I know. Truly amazing.
