Dr. Voigt completed her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology in 2011. Throughout her doctorate program she spent several years training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC and completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship. She has experience working in all types of settings from acute hospitalization, residential, intensive outpatient, community mental health, and outpatient levels of care. These experiences have helped Dr. Voigt understand and navigate the various systems of care for those she serves. Through these positions she has worked as a Senior Advisor for Behavior Treatment Services, and functioned as a member of the Trauma Informed Care Workgroups at various locations that worked in collaboration with the National Council for Behavioral Health. Dr. Voigt is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and has an understanding of numerous evidence-based trauma models such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, Seeking Safety, The Sanctuary Model, and Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Models. She has presented at several conferences and events such as the United States Marine Corps Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Program 2015 Annual Training where she presented Dialectics of Trauma & Revictimization: A Trauma-Informed Approach. She has co-presented at the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services “Trauma & Youth: Understanding the Impact of Trauma and Shared Learning Collaborative” at several localities across Virginia. Additionally she co-presented “Juvenile Offenders and Trauma Training” in Arlington, Virginia. Dr Voigt has experience working with a wide variety of psychological presentations with her passion in attachment and trauma work of all ages. She has knowledge and experience working with anxiety, depression, postpartum, bipolar, ADHD, autism spectrum, borderline personality, and serious mental illnesses.
