Tu Forkner, PA-C attended the University of Texas at Dallas for her undergraduate degree in biology. After graduation, she attended an EMT program and worked as an EMT-B before starting the UT Southwestern Physician Assistant Program. While at UTSW, she did her clinical rotations at Parkland, Clements University Hospital, Zale Lipshy Hospital, Dallas VA Hospital, Children's Hospital, and Dallas County Jail. She was also a clinic leader for a free clinic serving the homeless population in the Dallas area. During her time as a student, she realized her passion for women's health and helping other women make informed decisions about their health. Since graduating, she has been working as a PA in obstetrics and gynecology in the outpatient setting.
"I was a first-generation college student and am a first generation medical professional in my family. Growing up, my family never really talked about women's health so there was a lot of misinformation. Through the PA profession, I saw an opportunity to be a link between patients and their health. I want to be a resource for women and girls to learn more about their health and empower them through knowledge. I believe that helping patients make informed decisions will help build a healthier community."
