What should a new client know about working with you?

Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, usually around 50 minutes. I use that time to understand your full picture: your symptoms, your history, any prior treatments, and what is going on in your life right now. I draw on both cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic frameworks during the evaluation to get a more complete sense of how you think and what might be driving what you are experiencing. Follow up visits are typically 20 to 25 minutes and combine medication management with supportive therapeutic dialogue. I do not just review how a medication is working in isolation. I want to know how you are actually doing, and we will adjust the plan based on that. I see adults dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, psychosis, and substance use. Appointments are available virtually throughout Texas, so you can be seen from wherever you are. I practice under the supervision of Dr. Shehram Majid, MD.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take an individualized approach, which means I am not applying the same template to every patient. Treatment plans are built around your specific symptoms, history, and goals, and they often combine medication management with supportive therapy, lifestyle strategies, and patient education depending on what makes the most sense for you. I trained at Chamberlain University with a focus in psychiatric mental health nursing, and my clinical background spans a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, psychosis, and substance use. I have also worked with patients navigating major life transitions and relationship difficulties, not just diagnosable conditions. You can expect me to be thorough and collaborative. I will explain my thinking, involve you in decisions about your care, and be straightforward if something needs to change. Virtual appointments are available throughout Texas if that works better for your schedule or location.
