Ugonna Okafor, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC is the owner and founder of Kekam psychiatric services, PLLC. She is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides psychiatric treatment, such as medication management and Psychotherapy to individuals from 6 years old to older adults via telehealth in Texas, Washington, and Arizona State.
Ugonna completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Midwestern State University. After years of working with psychiatric and mental health patients in various settings, she received her master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Texas State University.
Ugonna is not able to prescribe controlled substances, such as stimulants for ADHD (i.e. Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse, etc.), or benzodiazepines (i.e. Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan, etc.) at this time. During the initial appointment, Ugonna will work together to develop an individual treatment plan such as comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, psychiatric medication, coaching, psychotherapy, and holistic care that is right for you and your specific needs. The follow-up appointments may be frequent after the initial visit due to medication adjustments necessary for the patient to reach their therapeutic goals. However, in every step of recovery, Ugonna works collaboratively with clients to hear their concerns, answer their questions, and agree upon treatment goals. Ugonna is committed to supporting your mental health goals and providing the best quality care to you and your loved ones.

Dr. Okafor was extremely professional and really listened to my concerns. I like that she didn’t just try to prescribe me any medication and I felt like I had some control in the process. She gave me a couple options when I voiced concerns about being put on medication, and gave me pros and cons of each option. I like that she scheduled a follow up appointment and gave me her direct number in case I needed to contact her before the two week timeframe. Very happy with my appointment!

I have seen a few psychologists over a ten year period. I have NEVER spoken to one as long or as in depth as talking with her. she was warm and personable, and I felt like she really wanted to know me, was concerned about me, and wanted to help me in any way she could.
