Dr. Hewitt is a Board Certified General Cardiologist with additional board certifications in Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. She received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College. She then completed her internal medicine internship and residency training at NYP Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center prior to completing her fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
Prior to joining the Mount Sinai Doctors, Dr. Hewitt was recognized on the peer selected PA TopDocs 2020.
Dr. Hewitt’s interests include preventative cardiology, women’s cardiovascular health, and transesophageal echocardiography. She also treats the vast spectrum of cardiovascular disorders including hypertension, lipid disorders, coronary artery disease, heart failure and arrhythmias which require medical management.

I was initially impressed with her bedside manner and Will continue to see her bc i liked her attitude and thoroughness, but her STAFF SUCKS.
I had my initial appt almost 2 months ago. They scheduled me for a echo and stress test for about a month later. I was then called and told that there was an issue and the doctor couldn’t be there and I’d have to reschedule both for a month later cuz they were booked.
I’ve now just received a call AGAIN telling me that my now rescheduled echo and stress test will have to be rescheduled yet again cuz the doctor won’t be there that day. What kinda mess is this? This is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Now I have to wait yet another month again to get this test bc her staff is incompetent and unprofessional?? I’m beyond annoyed.

My visit with Dr. Hewitt was by far the best doctors visit I have had in years. She had incredible bedside manner and knowledge base. I really felt listened to AND heard, and there is a distinct difference between the two. Despite the fact that I overheard they were a doctor short that day, she was still patient with me and I never once felt rushed. She thoughtfully explained my options and next steps in a way that wasn't overwhelming and pushed to make space for me in the schedule for diagnostics. My only real complaint about my experience was that the front desk staff were not the friendliest. They seemed inconvenienced by me trying to figure out how to schedule my next appointments. Despite that I would highly recommend Dr. Hewitt to anyone looking for a cardiologist.

Dr. Hewitt was incredible. She was patient, kind, extremely intelligent, personable, and just an overall pleasure. She took her time to explain what she was doing and was eager to answer any questions. She gave a physical examination, which many cardiologists don’t even do. The office staff was pleasant and respectful. The wait time was very minimal. Highly recommended with the highest honors.
