Dr. Barboza is a graduate of Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Lincoln Health and Medical Center, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Vermont. During her training and practice, Dr. Barboza has been involved in basic science research in the field of insulin resistance, obesity, and diabetes. Additionally, she has been involved in clinical research in the fields of thyroid disorders and insulin pump management. She has presented her research at various endocrinology meetings.
She is a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Barboza is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese thereby enhancing her communication and interpersonal skills in order to deliver the most effective health care and patient satisfaction. Dr Barboza was incredibly kind and insightful during my initial video consult with her. She took the time to listen to everything I had to say, and ask relevant, clarifying questions that could help her look for possible causes for my concerns. She also made sure to take detailed notes based on the visit summary made available afterward, and requested a comprehensive range of tests to be as thorough as possible when trying to make a diagnosis.

Dr Barboza was nice and straight to the point. The nurses and reception staff were not at all in sync. I received three different confirmation calls in one day. I also had to come in a separate day to do bloodwork. I was not given any information other than I could come at 10 am. When I came, the office door was unlocked but the lights were off and not a soul was in sight. I called the office number and was told I needed to go to a lab Corp location to do bloodwork. This was never once explained to me before. Very unprofessional. Will not go again

Dr. Escobar Barbosa was professional, friendly, and caring. She is thorough & takes notes of your concerns which is so proactive and hardly seen anymore. Her bedside manner is top notch! Maria at the front desk was also very nice and professional. I will continue to visit this office.
