Capital Endocrine & Diabetes was established in 2013 by Dr. Venkatesh Segu, MD, FACE, ECNU with a goal of providing personalized care for patients with diabetes, thyroid- or other hormonal disorders.
Dr. Venkatesh Segu brings with him a broad based clinical experience and extensive training that he has received both from India and the US. He has been in clinical practice for over 12 years. He is certified by American Board of Internal Medicine in both Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. He has a passionate interest in treating his patients. Dr. Venkatesh Segu was born in India. He graduated from medical school with top honors from Government Medical College, Mysore, India. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Endocrinology at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh, India. Dr. Segu completed his endocrine fellowship and Internal Medicine residency at University of Wisconsin, Madison. He then worked as a Senior Endocrine Fellow at University of Washington Medical School, Seattle and as a Research Fellow at Pacific Northwest Research Institute, Seattle, Washington. He started his clinical practice as an endocrinologist in 2001; he has worked at Salt Lake City, Utah and Munster, Indiana prior to moving to Austin, Texas. He is certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also certified in thyroid ultrasound and thyroid biopsy by American College of Endocrinology. He is passionate in his clinical work and patient education. Dr. Segu loves nature, music and travel. He is married and has a son, a daughter, a cute little parrot “Mr. Cutie” and a pretty Cavalier King Charles dog "Dove"
