More about Dr. Vickki-Ann Samuel, MD

Obtaining optimal mental health is important for achieving and maintaining one's overall health and well-being. At Reflections of Mental Health restoring your peace of mind is our top priority. For many generations suffering from mental illness has been stigmatized. Due to this, we provide a serene non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable to share your ailments and begin the journey to finding infinite bliss. I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist with training in Forensic Psychiatry. I specialize in the treatment of depression, bipolar and anxiety disorders, psychosis, dual diagnosis (mental illness along with substance abuse), and legal aspects of mental health. As a psychiatrist, I focus more on the accurate diagnosis and psychopharmacological treatment of mental health disorders; however, strongly believe that I cannot adequately treat an individual if I do not take the time to know them as a whole. The initial evaluation will consist of a thorough evaluation of past, family, work, and current life stressors that contribute to one's inability to function. Each follow up session will consist of medication assessment as well as brief supportive psychotherapy. *****YOUR INSURANCE INFORMATION IS MANDATORY PLEASE INCLUDE THIS INFORMATION IN YOUR APPOINTMENT REQUEST****************

Dr. Samuel is the only aptmt I can't cancel. The best doctor. The best staff. The best on everything. Thank you guys!!
I cela veru confortable, she to ok the Time to read my medical hystory. New to the area, glad I found her on Zoc doc.
She was very down to earth and funny and knew a lot about what she does. I will definitely be back. Thank you.
She was great overall. Great personality, she made me feel very comfortable. I would recommend her to anyone.
Amazing, all around service! I have returned 3 or four times and all the visits were amazing.
Excellent, she made me feel very comfortable for being my first visit to a psychiatrist.
Highly recommend her! Down to earth and straight forward.
Great doctor, helped me out a lot. I will go back to her
She was friendly, warm, and very honest! Which I love!
New patient visit: Courteous and professional front office staff. Very busy office but not a long wait and Dr. Samuel has a great sense of humor and knows her stuff.
Direct. &to the point also informative.
Willing to work with clients based in finances. The Dr is very honest and doesn't hold her tongue. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating to fit myself and my son in. Very good service.
She kept me waiting approximately 45 minutes with no apology. During my visit she seemed distracted. No eye contact. She answered 2 text messages while I was there. At times she wasn't looking at me but at the phone and I asked her if I should wait before speaking. She didn't like the combination of ADD meds my doctor of 30 years had me on so she told me to choose just one of them. I did choose one, but when I left I realized that she gave me a lower dosage if the one she had me choose (she never discussed with me that she was going to do that). I called the office the next day, spoke to the young woman in the office and explained what happened. I asked her to have Dr. Samuel call me back. That was this past Monday 5/19. It is now Thursday 5/22 and she has not returned my call. At one point during the appointment I actually saw her smirking! Even though I have been going through a very difficult time for the past year or so, she didn't even discuss making any changes on my antidepressant, which I seem to have broken through for the first time in years. I came to her as I was in a lot of pain from recent events, and she shooed me out of the office. I will not return to her and would not recommend her to others. I am a nurse and have worked in the psychiatric field for years, and I have seen many practitioners far and away better and more compassionate and emphatic then Dr. Samuel.
She is incredibly professional and wants the best for her patients. She is not a drug pusher and can weed them out right away. She is sweet and funny, she makes you feel very comfortable and at ease. She has a cute fish named Fire as well!
Is always wonderful. She is pleasant to talk to and I feel much better since the day we meet. I leave peacefuly after every appointment.
I felt at home. I was able to be myself.
