“We had been through what felt like an endless cycle of psychiatrists trying to find the right fit for our child, and it was honestly exhausting and discouraging. Then we found Dr. Daphne Dorce—and everything changed. From the very first visit, she took the time to truly understand our child, not just prescribe and move on. Her approach is thoughtful, compassionate, and incredibly thorough. For the first time, we feel like someone is actually listening and creating a plan tailored specifically to our child’s needs. What really sets this clinic apart is their openness to alternative treatments beyond just medication. The option for TMS gave us hope when we felt like we were running out of answers, and we are now seeing real, meaningful breakthroughs in our child’s progress. Dr. Dorce has been nothing short of amazing, and we are so grateful to have found her. I would absolutely recommend her and this clinic to any parent searching for genuine care and real results.”

Getting to know Dr. Daphne Dorce

Hello, and welcome. I’m Daphne Dorce, a Quad Board-Certified Psychiatrist specializing in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, General Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry. For more than 20 years, I have worked with children, teenagers, adults, and families facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. A large part of my practice focuses on helping children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, behavioral concerns, school difficulties, stress, trauma, emotional dysregulation, social challenges, and family-related concerns. I believe every child deserves compassionate, individualized care in a safe and supportive environment where they feel comfortable being heard and understood. My approach is collaborative and personalized. I take time to listen carefully to patients and families so we can develop a treatment plan tailored to each child’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. My goal is not only to help improve symptoms, but also to support confidence, emotional resilience, healthy coping skills, and overall well-being. In addition to treating children and teens, I also provide psychiatric care for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma-related conditions, stress, and substance use concerns. I completed my undergraduate education at Cornell University, earned my medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, completed General Psychiatry residency training through the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program, and advanced fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine Child Study Center. I understand that seeking help can feel overwhelming, and I strive to provide thoughtful, compassionate care that helps patients and families feel supported every step of the way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that effective psychiatric care begins with listening, trust, and creating a comfortable environment where patients feel safe being open and honest. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized to each patient’s unique needs and goals. When working with children and adolescents, I take time to understand not only symptoms, but also the child’s emotional development, school experience, family dynamics, social environment, and personal strengths. I work closely with parents and families while also making sure young patients feel heard, respected, and involved in their care. I provide evidence-based treatment that may include medication management, supportive therapy, education, and lifestyle recommendations when appropriate. My goal is to help patients improve emotional well-being, build healthy coping skills, strengthen confidence, and achieve long-term stability and success both academically and personally. Patients can expect a thoughtful, nonjudgmental, and supportive approach focused on helping them feel better and function at their best.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first appointment, my focus is on getting a full understanding of what you or your child are experiencing. This includes discussing current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, developmental history (for children and adolescents), school or work functioning, family dynamics, and any past treatments. I also take time to understand your goals and what you are hoping to improve. For children and adolescents, I typically meet with both the parent/guardian and the child, and may spend time with each separately when helpful. This allows me to gather a complete picture while also ensuring the child feels comfortable sharing their own experience. After the initial evaluation, I provide diagnostic impressions and a clear, collaborative treatment plan. This may include medication management, supportive therapy, coordination with therapists or schools, lifestyle recommendations, or additional referrals if needed. I always explain options carefully so families feel informed and involved in decision-making. Follow-up visits are typically focused on progress, symptom changes, medication management (if used), and ongoing support. These visits are also an opportunity to adjust treatment as needed and address any new concerns. My approach is supportive and integrative. While my primary role as a psychiatrist is medication management and diagnostic evaluation, I also incorporate therapeutic elements such as supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and coping skills during visits. My goal is to ensure that every patient feels understood, supported, and actively involved in their care.
