Dr. Virginia Richey is a family medicine physician in Denver. Originally from Mississippi, Dr. Richey relocated to Colorado for college and received her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Richey completed an internship and residency training at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver. She is board certified in family medicine and has been practicing family medicine in Colorado for more than five years.

I had explained to the doctor that I have had severe strep symptoms for 3 consecutive days now. The urgent care I went to tested me for rapid strep which came back negative but never sent out a culture. Everyone in the medical community understands this to happen often when in reality strep is the underlying issue. She explained that I could not come in because of my fever and sore throat and that she can’t protect against covid when in reality I was tested two days prior for covid and came up negative. This was a massive waste of my time and I am at a loss for words for how she is even supposed to help people who are actually ill. I ask the medical community what the point of telemedicine is in the first place if you cannot subscribe something as mild as a z-pack.

Dr. Richey was very thorough, kind, and very much put me at ease. Though I went in for just a physical, we talked though all other concerns I had. The front desk and nursing staff were also very efficient, informative, and kind. I showed up about 15 minutes before my appointment and was taken back within 10 minutes of when I arrived. I highly recommend Dr. Richey!
