I was feeling really terrible this morning and was able to get an appointment quickly. The dr and office staff were extremely nice and helpful. I would highly recommend them!
Great experience, everyone is on the ball and care for their patients a great deal. I highly recommend this office.
Made my appointment as a first-time patient, and I was highly this appointed. This office is nothing but an insurance money making place. The doctor was rushed and his bedside manner was awful. There was a guy behind the counter, who I believe was the office manager, he just kept pushing physical therapy and x-rays on me, even though I kept saying I didn't need it. Definitely would not return.
He gave a very thorough blood panel which I'm now taking to my other doctors. I may not be able to regroup with this office for a while if at all.
Nice office staff and thorough doctor! I look forward to coming back.
They dont even take my insuramce get your stuff together zoc doc
One of the best GP's out there
I was treated horrible and embarrassed by the Dr.
Awesome Service and great workers who actually care abut your health at this place. A++ i would recommend anyone who needs a great doctor to go here
Very pleased with everything here. Decided to make dr Lyons my primary care doctor after this visit The front desk was also very nice and the office was clean
Dr Lyon was very nice and addressed every question. However, his staff is all over the place. They don't seem to know what they are doing. They only have one receptionist that makes appointments and registers you when your a new patient and he was over an hour late. There were about 2 other people at the front desk but they said they couldn't do it. My husband and I went there for blood work and when we were told to pick up the results the results weren't ready. They told us to come in the next day they still weren't ready. We had to come to the office 4 times before they could give us a copy of the results and they were still incomplete. The stuff has an I don't care attitude and they just sit there no one appears to be doing any work. As, a result I will not return here.
I was not satisfied with the 2 visits I have. It seems that they are only thinking about money on this medical center, and not people's heath. Sad to see that reality.
Dr. Lyons is a great doctor. However the rest of the staff is a mess, no one knows what is going on. There is a lack of communication and waiting over 1 hour for a quick visit isn't exactly worth it.
-Long wait time, always overbooked -Dr. seems a bit aloof, does not exude confidence that he knows what he is doing -Sets you up for numerous appointments for specialists and then they don't always know why you are there -Nurses struggle to take blood pressure, not confidant that they know how -Not prepared to handle emergencies well -Too much going on to feel like you are being treated well -Bike was stolen during appointment
Listed as a United Healthcare provider on ZocDoc but isn't; so office visit for a physical was a surprise out of network cost. Waited in the lobby for over an hour. Told the receptionist I was leaving and not to reschedule me. Then they brought me right in. The doctor was nice and professional. I didn't care for the practice (380 88th Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn).
I was seen right away on a Saturday. I was referred to MD I needed. All over a pleasant experience.
Nice and easy visit.. Friendly
Didn't even meet the guy. Zoc doc scheduled me for a 6:45 appointment, got there 5 minutes late (on me), but called to let them know. When I arrived turns out he wasn't even working that day. They directed me to another doctor who was not initially nice at all because it was obvious that I was holding him up fir going home at 7. Had to even ask him to ask the nurse to leave and close the door because he just walked and said "ok, what's the problem." By the end he got a little nicer but not nice enough to make me want to go back.
I strongly insist you DO NOT see this doctor. I went in with a pulled shoulder muscle hoping to just get muscle relaxers. He opted to do a EKG. So an intern who was not being monitored performed the EKG but had to do it twice because she really didn't know what she was doing. She then drew blood but shoved the needle so deep into my arms. Another lady had to draw my blood. From the results of this EKG, Dr. Lyons proceeded to conclude i might have a heart problem which he proceeded to describe to me while reading it off a Wikipedia page. This place is a major insurance scam. The quality of care is a complete joke. Dr. Lyons sits in his office just collecting money from people he does not properly see. Not to mention, there was another man there having a SCREAMING match over the phone. I can't stress enough what a terrible clinic this place is.
Quick. Easy. Staff is friendly. What else do you need?
The staff in this place is really pleasant, no complains at all. The doctor was in rush and I know that because he was all over the place. He was nice but not attentive. I don't think he was listening carefully. He answered some questions but others he didn't give a straight answer. He was treating me and somebody else in the next room, which I found it not professional I think everybody deserves their own time, I mean is not like is free we paid for that time. And he answered his cell phone when he was talking to me!! I mean come one!! And then I found out that he was going on vacation and wasn't going to be there for my next visit which it confirmed my suspicious, he was in rush, me and the other person were his last patient and wanted to get out of there ASAP! Not the best experience. I will give this place another chance because of the staff, they made me believe that he has something, maybe it was the excitement of going on vacation and go away out of this crazy city. I will go back and see how he does in my next visit when he is there.
Very efficient and open late which is great for me to go after work. Even open on Saturdays
My husband has tried many doctors since his doctor closed his practice and he loves this doctor. He said he loves that they do everything inhouse. The doctor was great and he thinks this is the one!
Dr. Lyons was very nice and very knowable and he referred me to a specialist. If I ever need to see an ENT again, I would see this doctor. I would recommend him to anyone.
Very Nice doctor. And very smart and informative and funny. Seen him a few times.
My experience with Dr. Lyons was a very Positive one. I was attended right away. Dr. Lyons and his staff was very attentive to my needs and very professional. The office is extremely clean and welcoming. I highly recommend them to anyone that would ask me of a Good Primary Care Physician
Phenomenal service. Very well-versed in his field, I would definitely recommend to family and friends!
A pleasant and quick visit. Dr. Lyons and his staff were very thorough and friendly.
was fine, really nice person
Although Dr. Lyons was a good doctor, the organization that runs this office is cheap; I was told the air conditioning was broken on my visit only to find out from someone who works there that it's conventiently broken most of the summer. I would see Dr. Lyons again, I just am not too happy with the way the office tries to keep you coming back.
Its was very helpful and the doctor is very professional. Probably one recommendation is that maybe he can be more attentive and friendly with the patients.
Very good visit - staff is professional, helpful and nice....
He's very efficient.
Arrived on time and waited less than 30. Was not seen by Dr. Lyons himself but regardless the doctor who helped me was very professional. I personally thought it was weird that they have you pee into a cup in the rest room that you have to cross the waiting room to get too! You just walk past everyone in the waiting room with a cup full o' urine. Other than that it was a good visit, got a clean bill of health, I have decided to make them my primary care physicians.
The doctor was very professional! Highly recommend! The wait was long, but this is only because they get very busy on Saturdays.
Fantastic visit. Doc was straight and to the point and I couldn't be happier. We even spent a little time exchanging stories about our shared interest in boating!
Great visit. Came in as new patient because im new to the area. I needed some of my prescriptions filled, Dr. Lyons asked a few questions about my medical history and was very professional. I got what I needed and he insisted on doing some blood work as well just to make sure everything is good. -very pleased with my visit he is a good doctor
He left the door open so I could hear what was going on with other patients and they could hear what was going on with me and for results instead of calling, he wants you to come in to get more money
I went to Health Check because I was really sick and the place was recommended by a friend. After seeing Dr. Lyons he really listened very carefully to what I had to say and was very professional. He explained in great detail what he thought my diagnosis was and I could really tell he took pride in his medical care. Overall I was very happy with my visit. The staff at the front desk were really friendly and very helpful in scheduling my next appointment.
great doctor very efficient, and takes care of you immediately
The worst experience I have EVER had at a doctors office. I didn’t wait long in the waiting room. I was seen by Doctor Lyons. He requested blood be drawn. I had THREE ladies all look at my veins and tell me they are too small for them to take blood and they are uncomfortable trying. The Doctor said that I should wait for this other lady, who is “good at drawing blood” to come back from break. 20 minutes later, she had not shown up. Dr. Lyons had to take my blood. Mid way through I felt dizzy, like I was going to faint. I told him this, he did not stop taking my blood, and didn’t even offer me water or anything after wards. I was left in a room, by myself, knowing that I felt the need to pass out. I wanted to stand up, so I had to yell for a front desk staff to help me, just in case I did pass out. After all this, he took me in the back room and googled what he thought was wrong with me. HE GOOGLED IT! Then he GOOGLED what medicine to give me and how many doses. I understand doctors are human, but don’t let me see that! The day after I decided I needed a second opinion, so I needed a referral. I went into the office and I asked the receptionist, very nicely, for a referral, to a doctor that I would like to see. All of a sudden this older man came from an office and started yelling at me, saying that if I need a referral I need to wait for this girl to come back from break to write me one. I was looking at FIVE employees and not ONE of them could write me a referral. This man was verbally harassing me the whole time. Yelling at me that I need to go see HIS doctor and he doesn’t know when any one will be open for me to make an appointment. Questioning why I need a referral. All the while belittling me and yelling at me. I asked when this “girl who can write me a referral will be back”, he yelled at me and said “oh, she can’t take a coffee break?! You need to wait!”. After about 5 minutes, I left with out a referral and he followed me out of the office, telling me that I need to go see his doctor and that I cannot see ANYONE else. At that point I was a little frightened. This man is yelling at me for no reason and now he is following me out of the office. I just got off of the phone with Dr. Lyons office. They REFUSED to give me a referral to any doctor other than the one they want to refer me to. Stating that my insurance would not let them give me a referral to anyone other than the Dr. they suggest. I called my insurance company and they said that is not true. As long as a dr. is in my network I can request to see anyone. It was Dr. Lyons choice to not let me see anyone but their network of doctors. After confronting the receptionist, saying they blatantly lied to me, they very reluctantly said they will fax over my referral to the doctor that I want to see. I will call tomorrow to make sure they did. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! PLEASE!
they will milk your insurance. I've been there for fever, alergies, and knee pain. I hear the same thing, "let's take blood tests"
Waste of time
The office was complete chaos & I kept getting moved from room to room, never again.
TERRIBLE. If the stars were not pre-set, he would get ZERO stars from me. This was my first visit and had booked him based on reviews of ZocDoc. I had waited in the waiting room for 40 minutes before seeing him stroll in from his lunch break. I was fine with it because everyone has to eat. That was not the main issue. When I started telling him how I was feeling (reason for my visit), he was VERY dismissive still rectifying his lateness due to his lunch break. (What does it matter when you're finally here and we're discussing why I came in today?) After barely hearing what my health complaints were, he started some general examination. He did not even ASK to pull down my sweater (to check the heart rate or breathing) and just did it-- The other doctor offices that had male doctors would at least inform you or ASK before they did it. He took a quick look at my foot--because that seemed to be the only part of my complaint he heard-- and at the end of the visit HE JUST TOLD ME TO SEE A FOOT DOCTOR! I basically went there to fill out forms, wait over 40 minutes, and had him put me back at square one which is to see OTHER doctors! He told the receptionist to book an appointment for Monday when I never even told him of my availability NOR recommending a doctor! He does not give off the general indication of trustworthiness, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL VERY DISMISSIVE. If this is the quality you expect from your doctors, look no further, but this is by FAR the worst experience I have ever had. I am only taking time to review to WARN all of you that despite other reviews, for someone that had waited patiently, I had paid for ZERO RESULTS and unprofessional behavior.
The scheduling in that office overall is terrible. I had several appointments with Dr Lyons and a couple specialists there and rarely did I wait less than 40 minutes. Dr Lyons specifically sort of rushes through things and you can pretty much guarantee a follow up appointment within a few days to check in on something else.
I waited less than 30 minutes. The doctor and his staff were friendly and professional. I would return to see the doctor again.
The visit was excellent.
I liked Dr Lyons and his staff all very friendly and real.
I haven't seen this doctor in years but I went in for a nasty sinus/upper respiratory infection. His bedside manner is down right rude. I was sitting on the exam table and he walked right up to me and yanked my sweatshirt up above my breasts to listen to my heart beat with out asking me to do so or warning me. Then gave me a lecture about loosing weight, which at the time I was happy with my weight, somewhere around 150 - 160, nothing too bad. All I wanted was a prescription to make the infection go away and what I got was a lecture. I would never refer anyone to this man.
Very nice guy - very personable. Saw to my concern about my rib right away and got me an X-ray I was able to use to evaluate me thoroughly and without any additional appointments. Very friendly and very professional. Definitely would go back.
Good appointment. Doctor was attentive, caring and nice. Two thumbs up.
My appt was at 2 yet I was seen at 2:30 because he was out to lunch. Other than that, very thorough.
Very personable and direct.
good doctor. I arrived early but the wait was still way too long. Was not expecting it.
He was very lucid and succinct in explaining what needed to be done to solve the problem.
Didn't like it he checked me and said I have a common cold but I fell worse so I don't think its a common cold
Spent more time with the nurse than with the doctor; however he was professional and knowledgeable
I usually do not go to doctors, but I needed to and Dr. Lyons and the staff were great. I felt comfortable right away and even as a new patient, my waiting time was unbelievably short. I will definitely have no problem making this office my pcp.
Dr. Lyons is very nice but they charge for follow-up visits! I've never been charged for follow-up from any doctor! That's ridiculous! Will never go back.
Dr. Lyons was running a bit late but with the snow that was not unexpected. His professionalism and personality made it worth the wait. I would definitely recommend Dr. Lyons.
I thought he was to the point and very professional. I was examined very quickly and he was able to answer all my questions. The staff are very friendly. I would recommend this to others.
Dr. Lyons was courteous and helpful. My visit was a simple physical, and he and the nurses were nice, helpful, and efficient.
Dr. Lyons seems like a nice guy but he is ridiculously unfocused and disorganized. I went to see him over a head cold and/or allergies that was making me cough. He talked to me for two minutes and decided to order a bunch of tests - an x-ray and bloodwork! (They ended up showing nothing of course.) After this 4-hour odyssey I had to wait for another half-hour while his wife drove in his scrip pad from Staten Island. AND I had to call back again because the pharmacist couldn't decipher what he wrote. After the follow-up, he wanted to schedule a standard physical a month later. So I go along with it - when the time comes I roll out of bed and come in fasting. HE HAS NO IDEA WHY I'M THERE. Looks in the file and sees he already has a lot of bloodwork on me, decides no, this must be a follow-up. (A second follow-up? At this point I am too hungry and caffeine-deprived to argue it further.) So we literally do nothing, shoot the breeze for 5 minutes and I split. Of course he'll bill my insurer for this as a full visit. I thought the fact that he was on ZocDocs was an indication that he was perhaps more "with it" than the average physician here in South Brooklyn. But, alas, I was wrong. At least I get to write this review.
