Wendy Cantrell is an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years in dermatology. From Gardendale, Alabama, Wendy earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at UAB in 2011 and has since served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology. Wendy has also been the Manager of Clinical Research at UAB’s Department of Dermatology since 2000, where she has conducted over 100 research studies. Her professional affiliations include being a founding board member of the Alabama Society of Dermatology Professionals, a faculty member of the Dermatology Education Foundation, and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Dermatology Nurses Association.
Outside of her professional role, Wendy enjoys a fulfilling family life in Gardendale with her husband, Eric, and their three children. Gabriel and Noah are both students at Auburn University, while their daughter, Emma, is a middle school cheerleader and competitive dancer. Wendy’s personal interests include spending time at the lake, traveling with her family, and cooking. She also takes pride in managing a 40-acre farm with a fruit orchard and values opportunities to educate her colleagues at conferences.
