Dr. Atlas is a graduate of Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics. He attended University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Medicine where he completed medical school, his internship and his residency in Internal Medicine.
Upon completion of his residency in 1993, Dr. Atlas was an attending physician at University Hospital Emergency Center in San Antonio and served as Clinical Instructor, Division of General Internal Medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Atlas then served as an Instructor of Medicine at University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas, and as Staff Physician in the Medical Service at Dwight Dr. Eisenhower V.A. Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Dr. Atlas has practiced in San Antonio since 1996 and joined iMED in 2002. Active in clinical trials, Dr. Atlas has participated in numerous Phase II, III and IV trials for conditions like type 2 diabetes, hypertension and osteoarthritis. His professional affiliations include Bexar County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Atlas serves as Chief of Staff at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital.
