Yuri V. Prikoupenko, MD, is a highly skilled board-certified gynecologist who specializes in diagnosis and treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding and minimally invasive surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Yuri is a recipient of many awards for his academic and clinical accomplishments. He is currently employed at the Georgetown University Hospital, where he has been training gynecology residents and medical students for more than three years.
Dr. Yuri was born and raised in Lviv, Ukraine. He graduated from Lviv State Medical University in 1996, where he was a research fellow at the Department of General Surgery. After coming to the United States, Dr. Yuri successfully completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Sisters of Charity Hospital of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Science, in 2004. He has been in private and academic practice ever since.
Dr. Yuri is happily married. He likes to spend his free time with his wife and son. He also enjoys reading, playing tennis, basketball and water sports. He is fluent in English, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian, as well as medical Spanish. He and his family frequently travel to Ukraine to visit family.

He seemed nice. His receptionist was pleasant. Short wait time. He doesn't seem to mind that he's often called Dr. Yuri. The White Flint office is very tired looking, but he's moving Jan 1, 2019 to an office near Montrose in Rockville.

Prikoupenko was nice, but I will not see him again. I came to him for a second opinion on my pelvic pain, as the first doctor I saw wanted me to have laparoscopic surgery to determine endometriosis. Prikoupenko told me it was better to give a second opinion with their notes, etc, which makes sense. He examined me and determined my pain was probably caused by pelvic muscles, and he was very certain of this. He suggested I get physical therapy.
Got a third opinion and ended up getting the laparoscopic surgery. I had endometriosis all over my insides. Glad I didn't take this doctor's advice.

Dr. Prikoupenko was efficient in taking my medical history and forthcoming in addressing all my questions and concerns. He was very thorough and took care to make me feel at ease during the exam. He has excellent bedside manner. My appointment was right on schedule and there was no wait time in the office. I would definitely recommend him.

I arrived late due to work , but I was within the 15 min grace period.... the doctor was trying to rush me and barged into the room as I was preparing to undress ....he was rude and gave me attitude.... he was impatient and the whole appointment was completely horrific

His office manager was a fantastic lady and followed up things quickly. About the Dr., I felt I'm with an interrogator instead of Dr. He seemed more curious about other Drs I had visited before rather than asking about the medical issue I was there for. I guess the number of questions about name and office and address of other Gynos were twice more than questions he asked about my pain. If my own gyno was not busy during that month I would not go for a quick check-up to this Dr.

I had a really great experience. The front desk staff were extremely nice, helpful and personable. I was apprehensive having a male doctor for my OBGYN needs but this was a much better experience then my last GYN physician. He listened and allowed me to ask questions and explain my concerns. He did not give me any fluff but was thorough and explained his treatment plan in details. My experience has pushed me to refer a few friends that shared similar experiences with me.

It was the worst experience I've ever had in a doctor's office! He refused to do anything for me, and i could have been told this beforehand instead of while naked and vulnerable in his office. All he mocked me and made fun of me.

Dr. Prikoupenko and his staff are top notch. I was politely greeted when I walked into the office and treated with care from beginning to end. Dr. Prikoupenko was down to earth, attentive, and took time to make sure that me, and my lady parts, are healthy. I have never received that type of care in my 33 years of life and am happy to have found my new OB/GYN.

This was one of the best doctor visits I have ever had. I went for a second opinion after a horrible first opinion of an initial doctor on a minor issue. Dr. Prikoupenko was very throrough, and sympathized with my fears over the other doctor's drastic and inaccurate recommendation. I felt heard and he really explained things well. His office is very tech savvy and efficient. His office is about 45min from where I live but it is so worth going to him.

His staff and him were very nice, and he took the time to chat with me about my health, answered some of the questions I had and even recommended places I could go to, the the type of treatment I needed. Dr. Yuri was amazing! Had an appointment to get my implant, Nexplanon removed and was very nervous about the procedure. He made me feel extremely comfortable and talked with me through the whole thing. Also, I came to the office about 30min before my scheduled appointment to fill out paperwork and was seen early! Overall I would definitely rate 5 stars.
