For my first encounter with Dr.Chen, I found him to be highly professional and understanding. He answered my questions, and listened. I also found him to be funny, which was nice. I look forward to working with him, as he seems to be quite knowledgeable, and helpful. His staff was also incredible. Ms. Marilyn drew my blood without a problem (most people claim that I have difficult veins, but, she assured me that wasn't the case). Ms. Marilyn was also very professional, and kind. Very glad that I went here.

I was very happy with my first visit with dr Chen. It was my first visit, his office staff answered all my questions and concerns about insurance, supplies prescription for my new tandem pump and how they handle prior authorization as I was about to switch insurance and didn’t quite know what will need to be prior authorized.
Dr Chen was thoughtful, asked important questions, and I felt that he cared and was able to support and guide me in next steps of my diabetes care. In my 35 years of living with diabetes, I was so thrilled with how the appointment went I traded up. Change is scary, and uncomfortable. And I was truly grateful that dr Chen was a great clinician as well as a doc.

He is genuinely interested in not just the patient's medical condition, but also the patient's understanding of the condition and the realistic expectations the patient should consider. Dr. Chen shows a lot of interest in his patients, he really wants to get to know you. His listening skills are outstanding. He speaks clearly and at a normal pace so you understand him. I felt very comfortable talking with him.

I was sent to this doctor by my nurse who (as Dr. Chen told me) misread my test results. That's it, that was the result of the consultation. I came in, and I told him I was sent in by my nurse due to this test results, he took a look at the paper, said that everything was okay and she misread the result because it was written in a metric system. I saw this doctor for 15 minutes. He was pleasant and positive.
However! Then Mount Sinai and he sent us a huge, huge bill, some of which was covered by the insurance, but then we had to fight them to take down the price of the bill. It took us weeks. I was shocked, and I cried.
I do not know what kind of doctor Dr. Chen is, all I know is that 15 minutes of his time cost a lot, and he is not shy to pass the bill on the patients.

Dr. Chen is awesome. I'm a first patient but so far my experience has been great. Probably the first Endo I've ever seen that was very genuinely supportive about helping me manage my diabetes effectively and the way that I want to. Great guy, great sense of humor, and he's familiar with the supplies/products in the industry.
