Surgical Care As a general surgeon, Dr. Covington treats a broad range of conditions involving the abdomen, digestive system, skin, and soft tissues. Her practice includes hernia and gallbladder surgery; colon, small bowel, gastric, hemorrhoid and rectal procedures; skin cancer and soft tissue mass removal; and wound care. When appropriate, she incorporates minimally invasive techniques into a treatment plan tailored to the individual patient. Dr. Covington also believes good surgical judgment includes knowing when surgery is—and when it is not—the right treatment. Recommendations are based on each patient’s condition, overall health, goals, and expected quality of life.
