Adrian Kunst, PT, DPT is Vice President of Healing Therapeutics. Having started with the practice in 2009 as an Administrative Assistant and Therapy Aide, Adrian’s skill set was quickly recognized and utilized when he and Dr. Rick grew the company from its sole location to the multisite and multidisciplinary practice it is today. Working under the mentorship of Dr. Rick and seeing how much therapy transforms people’s lives, Adrian decided this was the career path for him.
After finishing his undergraduate degree at Purchase Collage, he completed three years of night classes to earn the prerequisites necessary to apply to Mercy College’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. Mercy’s reputable and unique full-time weekend program allowed Adrian to manage the organization during the week and earn his clinical doctorate on the weekends. This singular entrance into the rehabilitation field provided a great asset to any would-be clinician by being able to understand the intricacies of the administrative side of the industry while learning the clinical skills of the profession. After completing his doctoral research at Burke Rehabilitation’s robotics department, working with exoskeleton robots to restore walking in patients with chronic stoke, Adrian hit the ground running as a clinician in 2017.
He still manages executive level functions of the organization while treating at the company’s Westchester County locations and provides Early Intervention services in homecare settings. His clinical areas of interest are stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, and pediatrics. He is an active member of the APTA and his hobbies include ice hockey, fishing and botany.
