Getting to know Alexis Fisher

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the resources around you, you're not alone. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, identity struggles, or navigating life transitions, I am here to help you find clarity and healing. You deserve to work with a therapist who sees you for who you are, someone who recognizes the unique challenges you face. Together, we can explore the root causes of your struggles, develop practical strategies for coping, and work toward achieving your goals in a way that feels empowering and affirming. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, which equips me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively. Let’s work together to create the change you seek.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a humanistic and somatic approach to therapy, combining techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This allows me to meet clients where they are, integrating their emotional and physical experiences in the process of healing. Additionally, I draw from Critical Race, Disability, Gender, and Queer Theory to guide my work, ensuring that I support clients in ways that align with their unique identities and lived experiences. I am also trained in EMDR.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, supporting individuals through trauma processing, life transitions, and psychosis. My approach is inclusive and affirming, tailored to meet the needs of clients navigating challenges related to identity, mental health, and societal pressures.
