Dr. Alissa Klein (they/she) earned their Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. They furthered their training to specialize in pelvic health physical therapy during their clinical rotations, through onsite training, and with coursework from the Herman & Wallace Institute and the APTA Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. Prior to joining Indigo, Dr. Alissa worked in a range of physical therapy settings from pediatrics to sports rehab in addition to pelvic health.
Dr. Alissa enjoys blending neuromuscular retraining with manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to optimize pelvic function in daily life. Dr. Alissa is experienced in working with people experiencing challenges with bladder and bowel dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain, and pregnancy and postpartum care, among other pelvic health needs. They also love integrating pelvic health principles with orthopedic treatment as body systems are often interrelated. Whatever the challenge, Dr. Alissa aims to help every person feel better in their body in the ways that are uniquely meaningful to them.
Dr. Alissa has a movement background in gymnastics, acrobatics and dance. Outside of work, they enjoy adventuring around Baltimore with their wife and two young children. They speak Spanish as well as English.
