Psychotherapist

Have you been looking to feel more aligned with a sense of purpose and meaning? Do you struggle with overcoming barriers and find that your thoughts and emotions get in the way? I work collaboratively with clients to support them in making changes that lead to becoming more authentic. This might mean understanding how past experiences continue to impact you, brainstorming how to overcome barriers, managing uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, building motivation, or enhancing communication skills. Most likely, it is some combination of these. I work primarily with people undergoing life transitions and figuring out their next move: whether it is a job change, moving, family changes, relationships ending or beginning, or any of the curve balls that life throws our way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I love to laugh with clients, as I think a sense of humor is a vital part of connecting. I strive to be warm, genuine, and supportive, and I will frequently check in with you to make sure what we are doing is working. What drew me into the field was an intellectual fascination with how people think about the world, but the reason I still love this work is the joy of building meaningful relationships with and witnessing the incredible resilience of people like you. I will spend time discussing and exploring what is most important to you and forming a plan to begin building wider and more consistent steps towards reaching those goals. If the goals shift or if circumstances dictate that we focus on something else, then we will be flexible and make those decisions together. Setting up a session will allow us to get to know each other and to explore some of your history and goals. If therapy is a journey, then the first session helps me to know where you are and where you want to go. You can ask about the journeys I've gone on and the terrain I'm familiar with, and together we can decide if it's a journey we want to take together.
