I am an actively engaged therapist and work collaboratively with you to find a pathway through your distress to get you to the place you want to be. I make a point of meeting you where you are and tailoring interventions to meet your current needs. I operate from a strengths-based approach, which means I value your capacity, skills, knowledge, connections, and potential. My goal is to help you help yourself. We work together to understand all the factors that led you to your current struggles, including past traumas, maladaptive intergenerational patterns, relationship dynamics, cultural influences, and broader societal messages. The foundation of my approach is creating a relationship with you that is nonjudgmental, compassionate, and fosters trust and safety. I integrate concepts and strategies from a number of theories, but Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a cornerstone of the therapeutic process with me. We work together to identify dysfunctional thought patterns and beliefs that are keeping you stuck and help you actively challenge those thought patterns. I also incorporate concepts and skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), where we focus on Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation, and Distress Tolerance. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, San Francisco Bay, which informs my evidence-based and compassionate approach to therapy.
