Hello! I'm happy you are taking steps to find the answers you seek! And therapy should always be about what YOU want. Doing this human stuff can be messy!
I understand many of the things that bring people to therapy; I've been a client myself! I've been in individual and group settings involving couples therapy, recovering from divorce, and just trying to be the best father and person I can be. I have personally known trauma, grief, loss, depression, and anxiety.
Overall, my therapeutic approach is informed by my understanding of attachment theory and the impact of trauma. I am trained in CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, ACT, IFS, EMDR, Brainspotting, and NARM, and I often incorporate mindfulness and somatic interventions.
Trust me, I know therapy isn't always comfortable or easy, and it took a lot for me to ask for the help I needed. Now, I get to be the one to help, and I love my life for it! I believe a good therapist is kind of like an honest cab driver; you decide where you want to go, and I'll do my absolute best to get us there.
