I actually met with Eli so my comments will be in regards to him. Eli was very attentive, easy going and knowledgeable. He was keen into creating a strategy that hopefully will improve my condition unlike my past attempts at PT in the past. So far my initial visit has been met with more optimism than my prior visits to other PT facilities.

Austin takes the time to make sure you understand your condition, and the future steps needed. He really knows his stuff. He's super efficient in sending you the instructions for exercises, and ensures you've got your exercises down before the next appointment. I'm looking forward to working with Austin over the next few weeks.

Austin Afshar earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York University after obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Austin is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. At a young age, Austin began training and competing in both short and long course swimming, as well as open water swimming. He continued his knack for the sport during his time at IUP where he participated as a member of the club swim team and water polo team. Austin has swam competitively throughout his life, but it was during his undergraduate years where he provided private lessons for children with special needs that fueled his passion to pursue a profession in Physical Therapy.
Austin has treated an extremely diverse population, including post-operative and sports related injuries as well as neurological disorders. He previously worked at world renowned Moss Rehabilitation where he treated patients with neurological disorders ranging from cerebral vascular accidents, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, as well as treated patients in the intensive care unit. His work experience also consists of both outpatient orthopedic as well as outpatient neurological physical therapy.
Austin believes in treating his patients through evidence based practice, as well as through utilization of education, manual therapy and therapeutic exercises. He hopes to help his patients obtain the best quality of life possible through improving their strength and functional mobility, allowing them to stay active and to continue to pursue the life they desire through meeting their personal goals.
