My passion is to help you become unstuck by being more than your "Typical" therapist that lets you process the events and emotions that are keeping you stuck. In saying, I am going to educate you on why you are stuck, challenge your thought process, and at times give you home work to challenge yourself due to negative cognitions.
My passion is working with clients that have experienced Trauma. Many individuals do not realize that childhood events, relationships, work environment, passed and present experiences in school, and so much more can cause Trauma. Trauma is a very personal experience and we all have our own experiences that may have caused Trauma.
Yes, I have the education to help you overcome trauma, but I also have many personal experiences of trauma myself. You Got It..... Your therapist is Human! And this is why it is my passion. Can we erase the event that happened to cause the trauma, NO. But I will work my hardest with you as a team to help you cope and overcome to the best of my ability. I utilize EMDR, DBT, and an array of modalities to help you overcome your trauma.
Another passion of mine is working with couples. I have been with my wonderful husband for almost 30 years now, married 24 years. Let me tell you.... Marriage is HARD WORK. It takes commitment, dedication, and most of all Communication. Communication is a huge part in why many relationships fail. I am hear to help you as a couple to make the best of your relationship as possible.
I also have experienced working with Domestic Abuse. I enjoy teaching those that are either abusing or have been abused about the warning signs, coping skills, out reach programs, and day to day steps to gain control over your life.
