Career experiences: I have been a physical therapist since 1995. I have worked in a variety of settings, but predominantly my experience (and my preference) is in orthopedics.
Personal interests/hobbies (esp if relates to your treatment interests): I have a very active lifestyle. I am a gym junkie and love to be outdoors. I enjoy going to the park with my 14 yr old son to kick around the soccer ball, playing with our dog, riding horses, shopping with my husband, and traveling!
Personal statement: Being a very active person, I’ve had my share of injuries. To me, there is nothing worse than being told you need to stop doing something you enjoy in order to allow healing to occur or prevent further injury.
I’ve become very creative at times in finding ways to maintain my activity level while allowing injuries to heal. I strive to do this for my patients as well!
Whether through activity modification, education in better techniques, or balancing muscle strength and improving biomechanics, my goal is to return patients to the activities they enjoy and improve their overall quality of life!
