Hello, I'm Carl. My counseling style is deeply rooted in a client-centered, empathic, humanistic, and non-judgmental point of view. As an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, I believe strongly in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. I also hold a firm belief that everyone has the ability within themselves to not only enact change but also be their very own change agent. With 14 years of experience in the behavioral health field, I've had the privilege of working in diverse settings, including Community Mental Health Centers, Managed Care, and private practice. This extensive background has equipped me with a broad perspective and a wealth of knowledge to draw upon in our sessions. Depending on your unique needs, I utilize various clinical approaches such as attachment-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, existential therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused therapy. My goal is to tailor our work together to best support your journey. I believe that recognizing our own strengths and understanding how we've used those strengths to succeed in the past can be incredibly useful in reducing acute symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Long-term, I aim to help you build the confidence and skill set to move forward, knowing that you are more than capable of managing anything that life throws your way.
