I strongly believe that every person is stronger than they think, and my goal is to be a gentle guiding presence in your life to help you learn the best ways to motivate and raise yourself up so you can accomplish your goals. In therapy, I take client-centered and psychodynamic approaches to meet you where you are and explore where you want to be. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I will help by utilizing the most current and successful therapeutic tools at my disposal.
I hold a Master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University and am an EMDR-trained, trauma-informed therapist who utilizes cognitive and body-based skills to help decrease distress and increase positive internal coping strategies. I have worked closely with clients struggling with addictions, eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, personality, and relational trauma issues. I approach each person with empathy and openness to grow as your counselor and walk alongside you during your journey.
