Hello! I have a background in interdisciplinary studies from Stephen F. Austin State University and taught elementary age for close to ten years. I was also in the Army Reserves and served while being deployed to Iraq in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003-2005. I took a little different path after returning home from deployment and made the decision to be a stay-at-home mother for almost 10 years. I believe going through the different stages in my life led me to recognize parts of myself and inspired me to further my education, where I then earned my master’s degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University.
I believe that healing and growth can come from healthy and safe relationships. In counseling I want to provide a space where you can process your pasts, learn to live in the present, and help move towards your future goals. While helping you acknowledge and discover your inner strengths, I will walk through the journey of therapy together and help you develop skills to best support your life. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a guide, I have a variety of therapeutic tools that we will use and develop specifically for you.
