Dr. Cyril Balce is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and both her Master's and Doctorate (EdD) Degrees in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University here in San Diego, CA. Throughout her career, she has worked with various populations including military personnel, children and teens, adults, couples, families, individuals, as well as group therapy. She has clinical experience treating mild to severe conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and schizophrenia.
Her areas of experience also include dual diagnosis (mental and substance use disorders), children in school, foster care and trauma, coping with relational distress, work/life balance, self-esteem building, working on self-compassion, and crisis management. She utilizes numerous modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring her approach to meet the needs of each individual while working collaboratively, as she believes it is important to create a unique treatment plan for every person. Additionally, her experience includes working with those navigating identity development and addressing issues such as self-doubt, insecurity, lack of self-acceptance, and body image.
Her skills also include providing services for stress management and interpersonal issues. She strongly believes that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors for change and personal growth; therefore, her genuine, authentic, and nurturing approach fosters a supportive environment for healing and development.
