More about Dr. Daniel Hoffman, PhD

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed? Looking to cope with & conquer these difficulties? Together, you and I will overcome hesitancy & fears in a safe and supportive environment. You'll find my therapeutic style is warm and empowering. In psychotherapy with me, you can achieve your potential by confronting difficulties, becoming more assertive, & learning practical skills. Collaboratively, we will focus on the problem, develop specific goals, & a personalized treatment plan to address your needs. I am a licensed cognitive behavioral psychologist specializing in short-term, research-based treatments for sexual problems and relationships, anxiety and depression, and children's difficulties including ADHD. My clients learn new ways to adapt to stress, think critically & act productively. This enhanced skill "toolbox" helps my clients cope with stress & negative emotional reactions. I also conduct intensive therapy for phobias, panic, and OCD. My PhD in Clinical & School Psychology is from Hofstra University. I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in anxiety at Columbia University, while consulting through the NY Office of Mental Health, training therapists in ADHD treatments. I've presented my research at professional psychology conferences, & am an adjunct professor at local universities.
