Danielle Gagnon, MS

Psychotherapist
UT
Hi there, I'm Danielle! Danielle Payne is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, having earned a Master of Science in Counseling from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Environmental Science from the University of New England in Maine. Danielle enjoyed studying the healing effects that nature has on the human psyche. My approach Several of the modalities I use include Brainspotting, Trauma-Focused CBT, SMART Recovery, as well as a Safe Zone Certification for working with the LGBTQ+ population. I believe these forms of therapy create a space for clients to access negative memories and feelings, then release them, allowing the brain and body to heal. My focus I have worked with clients ranging from 3 to 75 years old. However, the last five years have mainly been with adolescents and young adults. Anxiety, depression, light to moderate substance use, trauma, adoption, attachment, relationships with self and others, communication, and family dynamics are a few of the areas I have a background in. My communication style I strive to provide a warm and comfortable environment for all my clients. I've been told that working with me is like “a comforting arm around you while being guided in the direction you want and need to go.” My journey to mental healthcare Being a therapist runs in my blood. I have many family members who are also therapists. I am drawn to helping and supporting people to the best of my ability. My goals for you My goal (no pun intended) is to set you up for success. I utilize SMART goals that keep your mindset moving forward, help with accountability and timing, and let you know that you are accomplishing what you set out to accomplish. My first session with you The first session is all about getting to know each other.
